“2021 international symposium on classical swine fever”organized by the National/oie Reference Laboratory of China Veterinary Drug Administration

On December 2-3, the State/oie Reference Laboratory of China Veterinary Drug Administration held the “2021 international symposium on classical swine fever”on the theme of “Eliminating classical swine fever: our mission”, focusing on the hot and difficult points of CSFV and African CSFV science and technology research, the eradication strategy of CSFV in China and even in the world and the prevention and control program of CSFV in Africa are discussed. National Chief Veterinary Officer (officer) of the Ministry of Agriculture and rural areas, Li Jinxiang, attended and spoke. Li Ming, director general of the China Veterinary Drug Administration, delivered the welcoming speech, which was chaired by Huang Weizhong, party secretary of the China Veterinary Drug Administration.

Li Ming pointed out that this seminar comprehensively summarizes domestic and international experience in the prevention and control of classical swine fever, focuses on displaying scientific research results, carries out international exchanges in the research of classical swine fever and African classical swine fever, and promotes global coordination and common progress in the prevention and control of animal diseases, it means a lot. Li pointed out that since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, OIE, FAO  and WHO have further worked together to take “One world, one health”as a comprehensive approach to address health threats to animals, humans, plants and the environment, it provides a new angle of view for the global prevention and control of major animal diseases. The spread of epidemic disease has no national boundaries. We must rely on the cooperation of all countries in order to effectively prevent the spread of animal epidemic disease in the world and lay the foundation for the final elimination of Hog Cholera and African hog cholera. The meeting is conducive to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting practical cooperation among experts and relevant units at home and abroad, and is conducive to the prevention and control of animal epidemics in China and the world.

Kugita, OIE Asia Pacific representative, chen Guanghua, deputy director of animal husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and rural areas; Chen Weisheng, director of the China Center for Animal Disease Prevention and control; Yang Jinsong, deputy director of the National Animal Husbandry General Station; Jiang Taozhen, Chief Veterinarian of the China Veterinary Medicine Supervision Institute; and Zhang Cunshuai, deputy director of the China Veterinary Medicine Supervision Institute attended the meeting. More than 10 countries, including Germany, the United States and Japan, 6 OIE Reference Laboratories, and more than 30 experts and scholars have made special reports on the research on the pathogenic mechanism, epidemiology and development of new vaccines of classical swine fever and African swine fever, nearly 40,000 people around the world watched the conference live on the web.
